97% Would Recommend LASIK to Friend or RelativeWhen it comes to eye surgery, what is the true measure of success?  Is it the number of procedures that are performed?  Sure, while that figure can certainly speak volumes, that’s not the most important factor.  Rather, for us, the success of a LASIK procedure lies in patient satisfaction.  That is, whether the patient would do it all over again, given the chance.  And, as it turns out, laser eye surgery has one of the highest patient success rates around.

According to eye surgery resource, The Eye Surgery Education Council, “LASIK vision correction has the highest patient satisfaction rate of any elective surgery: 95.4%, according to a 10-year survey of scientific studies from around the world.”  Moreover, the ESEC also explains that, “In a recent study, about 97% of LASIK surgery patients said they would recommend it to a friend or relative.”  And truly, what better way is there to assess patient satisfaction than to see if they would recommend it to their loved ones.  These numbers speak for themselves.

Not sure what LASIK can do for you?  Here’s a brief introduction.

LASIK Results

Of course, patients wouldn’t be satisfied if they didn’t achieve amazing results.  Here’s how LASIK works.  LASIK – which stands for laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis – safely and precisely reshapes the cornea to dramatically improve vision.  What do we mean by this?  Laser eye surgery can literally correct issues such nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism.  So, what kind of results can you expect?

Let’s take a look at one of the most common eye issues across the board: nearsightedness.  According to the ESEC, “Studies of mildly or moderately nearsighted patients show that one year after having LASIK surgery: 98% have obtained 20/20 vision.” And, while this isn’t a guarantee that you’ll have the same result, it’s certainly hard to ignore a figure like that.
